The department usually has one or more teaching assistantships (TAs) available each academic year. The actual appointment as a TA may vary but is typically at one-third or greater for a given semester.
If you are interested in being a TA for a specific course, please inquire in the main office (room 385), with the chair of the curriculum committee, (Sara Patterson) or with the instructor of the course. Since funding is not constant from year to year, and course needs exceed availability, most courses taught in the department do not have a TA. Anticipated TA allocations for specific courses are as listed below for both Fall and Spring semester.
There are additional classes that would benefit with TA assistance and we encourage graduate students to consider serving in TAs in these classes listed below and register for Horticulture 799 Teaching Practicum.
