Undergraduate students in the Department of Horticulture are assigned to a minimum of two advisors: our staff advisor and a faculty advisor. Prospective students should meet with the staff advisor first and she will help match students to a faculty advisor in the student’s area of interest. Current students can meet with either the staff advisor or their assigned faculty advisor. Students are required to meet with their advisor at least once a semester.
Our staff advisor is available to help prospective and current students with major exploration, general degree requirements and policies, academic planning, campus resources, etc.
Schedule an advising appointment online through the Starfish app on your MyUW homepage (search for Stafish and log-in). If you are not yet declared Horticulture, you can find me under “Other Services” and I am listed as “Horticulture Major; Environmental Sciences Major (CALS)”. Please click this link for instructions on how to use Starfish.
Our faculty advisors are available to help current students with internships and careers, graduate school preparation, research opportunities, etc. Contact information for faculty advisors is available here.
