If you are interested in Study Abroad, check out the scholarships available through UW-Madison International Academic Programs.

Independent scholarships are available from non-profit organizations, industry partners, and private donors in the area of Horticulture.

Current Independent Scholarships:

American Floral Endowment – A large list of scholarships available to undergraduate and graduate students

Annie’s Sustainable Agriculture Scholarships

Brittingham Viking Scholarships – Scholarships for studying abroad to Denmark, Finland, and Norway; visit website for current deadlines

Garden Center Symposium Scholarship – Offered by both the Garden Center Symposium and the Midwest Perennial Conference

Garden Writers Association Foundation Scholarship – For Juniors and Seniors majoring in Horticulture, Plant Science, or Journalism that have an interest in garden writing and/or photography

GIE Media’s Horticultural Scholarship Program – Offered by Lawn & Landscape and its parent company, GIE Media

Noble Summer Research Scholars in Plant Science – An undergraduate internship in plant science

Perennial Plant Association Scholarship – Available to students studying horticulture or a related subject coupled with attendance at the Perennial Plant Symposium

TOCA Scholarship – Available to students interested in horticulture & green industry communications

Wisconsin Garden Club Federation – For juniors or seniors with at least a GPA of 3.0

Wisconsin Green Industry Federation Scholarship – Available to students involved in the green industry

WLCA MM Scholarship Application – For Wisconsin residents who intend to live and work in the State of WI after graduation

Conference and Research Travel Funding

The Department of Horticulture is proud to provide funding to support current undergraduate majors with attending professional conferences.  Students need to download and complete the Horticulture Undergraduate Travel Award and turn it into the Student Services Coordinator in 386 Horticulture before the application deadline.
